Attaching a double pannier
A double pannier is fitted to the rear bicycle rack. Basil panniers are designed to fit virtually any bicycle rack. Bags featuring the ‘Universal Bridge System’ are especially versatile and suitable for almost all luggage racks. Flexible fastening straps allow the bag to be attached securely to your bicycle rack.
Use the four straps to fasten the bag across the top of the bicycle rack. Once it’s positioned correctly, secure the lower straps or Velcro fastenings underneath the carrier and you’re ready to go!
Using a MIK, Racktime, i-Rack or Carrymore adapter plate? No problem. Simply check the instructions for your chosen bag to find the best fitting method.
Waterproof double panniers
All Basil panniers can handle a light shower, but selected ranges are fully waterproof. These bags meet the IPX3 standard, meaning you can ride in continuous rainfall for up to 24 hours without the contents (of your pannier) getting wet. The Basil Rivo and Basil Urban Dry Pro collections, for example, are IPX3 waterproof.
